42Crunch Platform release, October 11, 2019

This 42Crunch Platform release brings improved Protection wizard, additional security limits to API Security Audit, and better readability to the audit report.

Compatibility

This release is compatible with the following API Firewall images:

• 42crunch/apifirewall:v0.10.0

All previous image versions have been deprecated and are not compatible with this version of the platform.

New features

The following are the new features and improvements to the existing ones in this release.

Improved API Protection wizard

The API Protection wizard has been reorganized to be clearer. Choosing the API to be protected and the settings for the protection configuration have now been separated in different views, and you can easily review your setup before completing it.

Additional security restrictions in API Security Audit

To ensure the availability of Security Audit, we have introduced some restrictions for API definitions. The file size should be under 4 MB, and there are some limits to the length, depth, and number of elements to reduce the complexity of the API definition for better performance.

Better readability in audit report

To improve readability of the audit report, we are now only showing the first 30 occurrences of any given issue. This way, the same, recurring issues do not clutter up your report and you get a better overall look of the quality of your API definition.
